Auto Glass Safety Council Premieres 25-Year History Documentary at Auto Glass Week in San Antonio

The Auto Glass Safety Council (AGSC) is preparing to premiere a documentary film chronicling its 25-year history at Auto Glass Week in San Antonio, Texas. Titled "Anatomy of a Disruptor: The Auto Glass Safety Council at 25," the film covers the organization's institutional history, from the foundational meetings in 1999 that established the Automotive Glass Replacement Safety Standard (AGRSS) to the Council's current work across regulatory, legislative, and educational fronts.

The AGSC was established to bring standardized safety practices to the auto glass replacement industry at a time when windshield installation quality varied widely and no unified industry standard existed. The Automotive Glass Replacement Safety Standard, developed through the AGSC's founding process, established benchmarks for adhesive systems, installation procedures, drive-away times, and related quality metrics that have since influenced both industry practice and insurance and OEM requirements.
