Autel submitted a Declaration of Conformance to the Auto Glass Safety Council (AGSC) on January 4, marking a consequential development for shop compliance. The declaration is a document the AGSC has been requesting from all manufacturers of ADAS recalibration and calibration systems, and its submission by a major tool maker marks an important step in standardizing what shops can point to during audits.

The declaration confirms that Autel's ADAS recalibration systems, when operated according to the manufacturer's instructions, are capable of recalibrating a vehicle's advanced driver assistance systems to original-equipment specifications. The AGSC posts submitted declarations to its website so that member shops performing recalibration can access them as audit deliverables.

The significance of this document for independent auto glass shops cannot be overstated. Insurance carriers and fleet operators increasingly ask shops to demonstrate that calibration performed after a windshield replacement actually restores ADAS sensors to OE accuracy.
